Sui and Alibaba Cloud partner for AI agent stablecoin payments

Sui and Alibaba Cloud have announced a collaboration to integrate cloud services with Sui Agent Payments. Announced during Sui Basecamp in Singapore, the partnership aims to enable artificial intelligence agents to pay for services using stablecoins on the Sui blockchain.

Under this model, users can set specific budgets and define which services their AI agents are authorized to purchase. When an agent requires external resources—such as data consultation, model usage, or computing power—it can purchase Alibaba Cloud services directly. The system verifies the user's authorization, settles the payment in USDC, and provides a blockchain-based receipt. To streamline the process, the system covers network fees so the agent does not need to hold SUI tokens.
