Suihei macOS app released for automated photo leveling
Marginal Gains Inc., a software development company based in Osaka, has released Suihei, a macOS application designed for photographers to automate photo leveling. The app uses built-in AI to analyze the tilt of each individual photo and apply corrections in bulk, addressing a traditionally manual task for professionals handling large volumes of images.
Suihei automatically crops photos to the largest possible rectangle after rotation to eliminate white edges or transparent corners. To ensure privacy and data security, all AI analysis and processing are performed locally on the Mac, meaning no images are sent to external servers. The application does not modify original files, instead exporting corrected copies while maintaining EXIF data.
Available on the Mac App Store, Suihei follows a one-time purchase model rather than a subscription. Users can export up to 100 photos for free initially, with a daily limit of 10 free exports thereafter. The full version can be unlocked via an in-app purchase, which is offered at a promotional price of 4,000 yen (US$24.99) until September 30, 2026, before increasing to 6,000 yen (US$39.99).
