Marugame Seimen and Sukesan Udon launch new promotions and menu items

Japanese udon chains Marugame Seimen and Sukesan Udon are launching various promotional campaigns and new menu items.

Marugame Seimen is holding a two-day event on September 18 and 19, offering free “bite-sized udon” samples for customers to compare two different preparation styles: “kamanuki,” which is soft and plump, and “shime,” which is firm and smooth.

Sukesan Udon, celebrating its 50th anniversary, has launched a “Great Thanksgiving Fair” at its official online store. The promotion includes limited-edition merchandise sets featuring T-shirts, stickers, and acrylic stands, alongside popular food items. Additionally, the chain is running an X (formerly Twitter) campaign to celebrate new store openings in the Akashi area.

To expand its menu, Sukesan Udon has also introduced a limited-time “extra-large clam soup” containing three times the usual amount of clams, as well as new sets combining clam soup with shrimp tempura.
