Sukiya to launch new European-style beef curry in Japan

Sukiya has announced the launch of its new beef curry, scheduled to be available at approximately 1,991 locations starting September 29, 2026, at 9:00 AM. The menu item features a European-style curry roux made with beef umami, sautéed onions, garlic, ginger, and tomato, blended with spices including turmeric, coriander, cumin, and black pepper. The roux also incorporates butter, apple juice, and fruit chutney for a deep flavor profile.

The dish is served with 100% domestic Japanese rice and tender simmered beef brisket. Customers can adjust the heat level using a separate special spicy sauce. In addition to the standard beef curry, which is priced at 850 yen for a regular serving, the chain is introducing variations including a beef-topped curry and a sausage beef curry, both priced at 1,130 yen for a regular serving.
