Sukma 2026: Athletes Chai Kai Le and Farhana Izurein set new records

Athletes Chai Kai Le and Farhana Izurein Faizal Amizul achieved record-breaking victories at the Sukma 2026 games.

Johor javelin thrower Chai Kai Le secured a gold medal with a throw of 64.44 meters. This performance broke a 26-year-old championship record previously held by Sarawak’s Kho Mei Kuan, who set a mark of 62.33 meters in 2000. Tan Chun Wei of Pulau Pinang took silver, while Mohd Noor Iman Norman of Johor earned bronze.

In the shot put event, Perlis athlete Farhana Izurein Faizal Amizul won gold with a throw of 14.22 meters. Her performance broke the existing record of 13.39 meters set by Johor’s Rahila Othman in 2010. Asyherina Kuja Anak Ujoh from Johor claimed silver, and Voon Pei Ling from Sarawak took bronze. Farhana also secured a silver medal in the discus throw.
