SUKMA Selangor 2026 national games officially commence
The SUKMA Selangor 2026 national games have officially commenced, marked by a grand opening ceremony at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam graced by the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah. The event features young athletes from across Malaysia competing in various disciplines.
In athletics, Danish Ifthikar Muhammad Roslee of Johor and Izzatul Musfirah Ahmad Kamal Azira of Terengganu emerged as the fastest sprinters, winning gold in the men’s and women’s 100m events respectively. In taekwondo, Sarawak and Pahang athletes showed dominance in the kyorugi category, with notable gold medalists including Putera Arsyad Danish Afrizan from Pahang and AJ Ong Yang Yi and Pretty Amisha Amanda from Sarawak.
In silat, the Penang women’s squad secured early victories in the preliminary rounds. To facilitate the games, authorities have implemented phased road closures in the Sepang district across several zones to manage traffic and ensure safety for participants and spectators.
