Sukoharjo police hunt former terrorism convicts for restaurant arson

Police in Sukoharjo, Central Java, are pursuing a former terrorism convict identified by the initial I, who is wanted for the arson and destruction of a noodle and pork restaurant in Grogol. The incident occurred on September 12, 2026.

Authorities have already apprehended one suspect, identified as AS (also known as ST), a former terrorism prisoner. During his arrest in Baki on October 19, the suspect reportedly attacked officers with a sharp weapon and arrows, resulting in injuries to two personnel. Following his capture, the suspect implicated the second individual, I, who is now a fugitive.

Central Java Regional Police Chief Irjen Pol Roy Hardi Siahaan stated that the suspect I was previously involved in a terrorism incident targeting the Pasar Kliwon Police Station around 2015. In the search for the fugitive, police conducted raids on two Islamic boarding schools in the Sukoharjo and Karanganyar regions.
