Sulawesi Barat increases scholarship recipients to 1,040

During the 22nd anniversary celebrations of Sulawesi Barat, Governor Suhardi Duka called on the younger generation to play a more active role in regional development through creativity, integrity, and knowledge.

To support this, the provincial government has significantly increased its scholarship program, raising the number of recipients from 561 in 2025 to 1,040 in 2026, with a total budget exceeding Rp7 billion. This initiative aims to provide greater opportunities for children from modest backgrounds to advance.

Additionally, the province reported a Human Development Index (IPM) of 71.16 in 2025, placing Sulawesi Barat in the high human development category.
