Sulawesi regions advance infrastructure and financial inclusion initiatives
Regional developments in Sulawesi are focusing on infrastructure, financial inclusion, and energy project readiness.
The South Sulawesi Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) has approved the second phase of a Multi-Year Project (MYP) valued at approximately Rp5 trillion. This funding targets 11 priority sectors, including roads, bridges, irrigation, agriculture, and MSME development. Combined with the first phase, the total MYP program for the region is expected to reach Rp7.7 trillion through 2029.
In North Sulawesi, the provincial government has set an ambitious target to achieve a 95.11 percent financial inclusion rate by 2030. The strategy involves collaborating with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and banks to reach rural populations, coastal communities, students, and women through digital ecosystems and educational programs.
Additionally, PLN UIP Sulawesi has received five awards for its performance in licensing and land acquisition during the first half of 2026. The unit exceeded its land acquisition targets, securing 75.95 hectares against a goal of 52.97 hectares, to support electricity infrastructure development in the region.
