Sulgás launches new campaign as gas tariff rises in Rio Grande do Sul

The natural‑gas distributor Sulgás unveiled a new institutional campaign in Rio Grande do Sul with the slogan “Energia pra hoje, gás pro futuro”. Produced by the agency Escala, the 360º campaign highlights the role of natural gas in households, industry, commerce and transportation, using TV, radio, outdoor and digital media to show the company's contribution to the state's economic and environmental development.

The State Agency for Regulation of Delegated Public Services (AGERGS) approved a semi‑annual tariff adjustment of R$ 0.48 per cubic metre for all regulated Sulgás customers, effective on Saturday. The increase reflects higher international oil prices driven by the war in the Middle East. Simultaneously, AGERGS authorized the eighth addendum to Sulgás’s purchase‑sale contract with Petrobras, establishing a Brent price band of US$ 85 / bbl (August 2026 – January 2027) to US$ 61 / bbl (February 2027 – January 2029) to protect against price swings. For a typical residence using 30 m³ a month, the change adds about R$ 14.40 to the bill, while larger commercial users face higher impacts.
