Sullivan Middaugh wins XTERRA Costa Rica Full Distance Triathlon

Sullivan Middaugh and Raquel Solís won the 2026 XTERRA Costa Rica Full Distance Triathlon held in Las Catalinas. Middaugh secured the victory with a cumulative time of 2:12:44, finishing 44 seconds ahead of Reed Legg, while German athlete Sebastian Neef took third place.

The event concluded three days of competition, which included the inaugural XTERRA Americas Trail Run Championship. During that championship, Costa Rican runners José Manuel Venegas Romero, Laura Murillo, Pedro Chacón, and Priscila Solís Rojas claimed continental trail titles.

Triathlon legend Alistair Brownlee participated in the weekend's festivities by leading the Golden Social Run. The event drew a diverse range of participants, including age-group athletes, youth qualifiers, and families.
