Sulmona Mayor opposes Cogesa and Asm L’Aquila waste management merger

Sulmona Mayor Luca Tirabassi has expressed strong opposition to the proposed merger of waste management companies Cogesa and Asm L’Aquila. Tirabassi argues that the current management landscape in the province of L’Aquila is highly inconsistent across the Peligno, Aquilano, and Marsicano areas, both in terms of company structures and collection methods.

A key concern cited is that the province's only landfill is located within the Peligno territory. To protect local specificities and ensure efficient service, Tirabassi supports a legislative proposal to divide the region into three sub-sectors rather than creating a single provincial management area. This would allow for an autonomous Peligno sector to better address local needs.
