Sulmona Municipality condemned by TAR for denying access to documents

The Abruzzo Regional Administrative Court (TAR) has condemned the Municipality of Sulmona for denying access to documents requested by lawyer Marina Fracassi for defensive purposes. The court characterized the municipality's justifications as “entirely erroneous, patently illogical and illegitimate” in light of the requester's defensive needs.

In response to the ruling, the organization Direzione Sulmona has called for an internal investigation and disciplinary action against Mayor Luca Tirabassi, Personnel Assessor Mauro Tirabassi, and the council oversight commission. The group argues that the administration's actions have caused unnecessary legal costs and damaged the entity's reputation, particularly as the municipality struggles with off-balance-sheet debts.
