Italian political leaders address coalition unity and economy at UDC festival

During the UDC national festival in Rome, several Italian political leaders addressed the future of the center-right coalition and domestic economic policy.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni sent a video message supporting the UDC as a precious component of the center-right, asserting that her government remains committed to its electoral program and stability.

Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti discussed managing public debt amid rising interest rates and proposed tax incentives for companies that increase wages for young employees.

In contrast, Nicola Fratoianni of Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra called for a courageous progressive alliance, advocating for wealth taxes and wage protections. Meanwhile, Movimento 5 Stelle leader Giuseppe Conte criticized the Democratic Party's approach to primaries and expressed opposition to the current government's foreign policy regarding Ukraine.
