Sulmona residents file complaint over clandestine night racing

A formal complaint has been filed with the Public Prosecutor's Office in Sulmona following reports of clandestine night racing involving cars, motorcycles, and minicars. The legal action was prompted by a 45-year-old father who alleges that the continuous noise from engines, braking, and sudden accelerations has caused his two-year-old daughter to suffer from sleep disorders, anxiety, and respiratory difficulties.

The complaint seeks to hold those responsible accountable for disturbing the peace and potentially for personal injury due to the psychological and physical impact on the child. Residents report that the racing has shifted from via Arabona to more densely populated central areas, including via Fiume, via Papa Giovanni XXIII, and via XXV Aprile.

Local citizens are organizing signature collections and intend to notify the Prefect. This follows previous tensions in the area, including a past incident in via Arabona where residents faced an assault while protesting the racing activities.
