Sulmona seeks private partner for lyric music seasons

The Sulmona municipal administration has released a public notice to select a private partner for managing the 2026/27 and 2027/28 lyric music seasons at the Maria Caniglia Theatre. This move implements a public-private partnership model, a formula previously applied to prose seasons.

The Camerata Musicale Sulmonese ETS, which has managed the Abruzzo region's most prominent lyric theatre for over seventy years, has proposed this partnership model. However, the timing of the announcement has caused delays. While the season is programmed, the official start may be postponed until the selection process and municipal decision-making are finalized, as the notice was only published in late September.
