Sultan al-Arada discusses Yemen security and Red Sea stability with US official

Sultan al-Arada, a member of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, held discussions with US Chargé d'Affaires Neil Hope regarding the political, military, security, and economic situation in Yemen.

The talks addressed regional developments and their impact on national and regional security. Al-Arada emphasized the need for more effective international partnerships to support state institutions and counter Houthi escalations targeting vital facilities. He specifically highlighted the importance of protecting maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, calling for increased political and economic pressure on the Houthis to cut off their funding and weaponry.

Neil Hope reaffirmed US support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government, stating that Washington remains committed to strengthening state institutions and coordinating efforts to mitigate security and economic challenges in the region.
