Sultan al-Arada discusses Yemen security with British Ambassador

Sultan al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, held a virtual meeting with the British Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, to discuss national developments and the implications of recent military escalations.

The discussions focused on Houthi military advances, specifically their control over strategic locations leading to the Bab el-Mandeb strait. Al-Arada warned that Houthi control over this maritime corridor, supported by Iran, poses a direct threat to Yemeni national security, regional stability, and international shipping lanes. He emphasized that these shifts aim to change the balance of power to serve Iranian interests.

Ambassador Sharif expressed the United Kingdom's interest in monitoring the political, security, and military developments in Yemen and the region. She reaffirmed the UK's commitment to working with regional partners to support stability in Yemen.
