Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah meets Nusantara Sharia judicial delegations

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam received heads of delegations from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore for the 4th Nusantara Sharia Judiciary and Legislation Conference 2026.

The delegation included high-ranking judicial officials, such as the Director General and Chief Sharia Judge of Malaysia, the Chief Junior/Head of Religious Chamber of the Supreme Court of Indonesia, and the Senior President of the Singapore Sharia Court. During the meeting, discussions focused on current developments and issues regarding Sharia judiciary and legislation within the Nusantara region.

The conference and the subsequent Sharia Legislation and Judiciary Secretariat Meeting are scheduled to take place in Bandar Seri Begawan from October 6 to 8, 2026.
