Sultan Kudarat Governor denies shooting at Isulan National High School
Sultan Kudarat Governor Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu has clarified that reports of a shooting at Isulan National High School on September 30 were inaccurate. Authorities stated that a loud sound heard at the school was likely caused by faulty electrical wiring rather than gunfire.
Following reports of gunfire and potential hostage-taking, the school was placed under lockdown while the Isulan Municipal Police Station and other security forces secured the area. However, investigations revealed no ammunition at the scene and no confirmed reports of injuries or fatalities. The Bureau of Fire Protection is currently conducting an assessment of the electrical issues.
The Governor urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information on social media, emphasizing that the safety of students and staff remains a priority.
