Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport faces flight disruptions due to haze
Forest fire smoke has significantly reduced visibility at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport in Palembang, with visibility dropping to 500 meters on October 10 and 11, 2026.
The haze has caused disruptions to multiple domestic and international flights. On October 11, four specific flights operated by Citilink and AirAsia were impacted, including departures to Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, as well as arrivals from those cities.
Airport authorities continue to monitor atmospheric conditions and visibility levels to ensure flight safety. Passengers are advised to check with airlines for the latest operational updates as conditions may change based on smoke concentration and weather.
