Sultan Nazrin urges Muslims to adopt Prophet Muhammad’s character as identity guide
During the Maulidur Rasul celebrations in Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah emphasized that the personality of Prophet Muhammad should serve as the primary guide for Muslims to build a strong identity. He stated that true identity is not defined by outward appearance, slogans, or clothing, but is instead reflected through unshakeable principles, faith, and character.
The Sultan noted that the Prophet exemplified leadership through firmness in principle, gentleness in action, and compassion toward the weak. He called on the Muslim community to strengthen their identity by returning to comprehensive Islamic values, including the mastery of knowledge, the practice of the Sunnah, and the promotion of unity.
In a broader context, the observance of Maulidur Rasul serves as a global opportunity for Muslims to commemorate the birth of the Prophet and reflect on his role as a mercy to all creation. The celebrations encourage believers to emulate his teachings in worship, social interaction, leadership, and conflict resolution.
