Sultan of Sokoto urges Nigerian youths to shun political thuggery

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on Nigerian youths to resist recruitment as political thugs or bandits for political or economic gain. He issued this warning during the centenary celebration of the Az-Zumratul Adabbiyatul Kamaliyyah School of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Addressing the gathering, the Sultan emphasized the importance of religious tolerance, urging Muslims to show kindness to neighbors regardless of their faith. He also encouraged citizens to pray for their leaders, including the president and state governors, to help find solutions to the nation's challenges.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was represented by Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah. The school was founded 100 years ago by the late Sheikh Muhammad Kamalud-deen Al-Adabiy.
