Sultan Resources applies for copper-gold exploration license in Namibia

Sultan Resources has applied for an additional 171.2 square kilometers of exploration ground in Namibia, known as the Kaalkop Project (EPL 11820). Located approximately 5km south of Kalkfeld within the Central Damara Belt, the project aims to target copper and gold mineralization.

The application area includes the Abbabis Lineament, a major regional structure, as well as granite-carbonate contacts, deformed schists, and late-stage granitic intrusions. While historical exploration in the area focused on base metals such as copper, lead, zinc, tin, and tungsten, Sultan Resources intends to prioritize gold exploration potential through geological mapping, rock-chip sampling, and subsequent soil geochemistry surveys.

The project is situated near other active exploration sites in the region, including WIA Gold’s Kokoseb Gold Project and Kaoko Metals’ copper operations. Sultan Resources expects the new license to be granted in the next quarter.
