Sultan Selangor proposes alumni donation system for UiTM

Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has proposed the development of a dedicated system to allow Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) alumni to contribute financially to the institution. The Sultan suggested a contribution of at least RM10 per month or RM100 per year as a gesture of gratitude for the education received at the university.

With the alumni population exceeding one million people, the Sultan noted that such contributions could potentially reach RM100 million annually. These funds are intended for university development and to assist both new and existing students facing poverty or difficulties in financing their education.

During the Royal Address at UiTM, the Sultan also advised graduates and alumni to uphold the reputation of the university, its lecturers, and their parents, emphasizing that past successes should not lead to complacency.
