Sultan Selangor urges political leaders to avoid power struggles

Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has called on political leaders to avoid infighting, disputes, and power struggles that cause division. He emphasized that efforts and attention should instead be directed toward state development, public welfare, and the well-being of those in need.

In a statement released via the Selangor Royal Office, the Sultan noted that differences in political stance and ideology should not hinder cooperation for the benefit of the state and its people. He urged leaders to fulfill their responsibilities with integrity, prioritizing the interests of the public over personal or group political interests. He further stressed that progress in Selangor must be accompanied by social harmony and administrative stability.

The remarks were made during a religious ceremony at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque in Shah Alam, marking the Silver Jubilee of his reign. During the event, the Sultan met with current Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, as well as former Menteri Besters Dr. Mohamad Khir Toyo and Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
