Turkey reports multiple violent incidents and fatal accidents

In Mersin's Erdemli district, 80-year-old Hasan Hüseyin Belen has died after spending 18 days in intensive care following a violent assault. On July 24, a masked attacker targeted Belen while he was sitting in his garden, attempting to break his neck and repeatedly kicking him. The suspect, identified as 47-year-old A. Y., was apprehended after police reviewed 114 security cameras. While previously charged with attempted murder, the suspect now faces charges of intentional homicide.

In Istanbul's Sultanbeyli district, a car accident involving a vehicle that lost control and struck parked vehicles resulted in a fire. The incident led to a physical altercation between the driver and the owners of the parked vehicles before the driver fled the scene. Police have since apprehended the driver.

Other notable incidents in Turkey include a fatal stabbing in Konya where a man was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for killing his wife, and a high-speed car crash in Bodrum where a vehicle plunged into a shopping mall parking lot. Additionally, a motorcycle accident occurred in Bolu's Gölcük Nature Park, resulting in minor injuries.
