Barcelona police capture Turkish fugitive sentenced to 26 years

A Turkish fugitive sentenced to 26 years in prison for crimes including attempted murder in Istanbul has been apprehended in Barcelona. The 28-year-old individual reportedly escaped from a Turkish prison last June after receiving court-approved leave to visit a relative. Following an investigation by the International Fugitive Investigation Group and cooperation with Turkish police, the suspect was located in a tourist rental home in Barcelona. Two individuals who provided logistical support by using their own identities to hide the fugitive's information were also identified. The suspect is expected to be extradited to Turkey.
