Sultangazi bee infestation hospitalizes resident

A family living in the top floor of a five-story building in the Sultangazi district of Istanbul has been facing a severe bee infestation for approximately 10 days. The bees, which nested in the building's attic, have been entering the residence through gaps in the ceiling, spreading into various rooms and bathrooms.

The situation led to medical emergencies within the household. Resident Ümran Babakan was hospitalized after being stung multiple times, suffering from swelling in her arms. A child in the family was also stung in the bathroom. The family expressed significant distress regarding the safety of a cancer patient residing in the home.

According to the residents, attempts to manage the infestation using various medicines and methods were unsuccessful and appeared to increase the number of bees rather than reduce them. The family has called on authorities to provide a permanent solution to the crisis.
