Sumatera Barat wins VIII National KORPRI MTQ overall championship

Sumatera Barat has secured the title of overall champion at the VIII National KORPRI Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) for the third consecutive time. The province earned 160 points, allowing them to claim the perpetual trophy.

Hosted in South Sulawesi, the competition featured civil servants from various provinces, ministries, and institutions. South Sulawesi finished in second place with 125 points, followed by DKI Jakarta in third with 103 points. The event was officially closed by the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, who emphasized that the competition should serve as a space for strengthening Quranic values among civil servants.

The West Sumatra delegation was welcomed back at Minangkabau International Airport by Vice Governor Vasko Ruseimy. The group achieved 29 distinctions across various categories, including Tilawah Al-Qur’an, Tartil, and Hifzh Al-Qur’an.
