Sumbawa Barat regulates electronic village head elections

The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) held a harmonization meeting regarding the draft regulation for West Sumbawa Regency. The meeting focused on the second amendment to West Sumbawa Regent Regulation Number 30.A of 2016, which serves as the guideline for implementing village head elections.

Edward James Sinaga, Head of the Division of PPPH, emphasized that the harmonization process is essential to ensure that the draft regulation aligns with higher-level laws, follows proper legal principles, and adheres to correct drafting techniques.

The proposed changes aim to strengthen the legal basis for conducting village head elections electronically. This regulatory update is intended to provide legal certainty and mitigate potential disputes, complaints, or objections arising from the use of electronic technology in the election process.
