Summer 2026 nail polish trends highlight vibrant colors and matte finishes

Beauty experts outline the nail‑polish directions for the summer of 2026. Co‑owner Sofya Khasanova of Siberia Salon and founder of Nata nail polish line recommends bright summer hues such as turquoise, coral, sky‑blue, yellow‑butter, pistachio, matcha and the classic “red Ferrari” shade, calling it “the season of vibrant and cheerful tones.” She also notes a growing preference for clean, natural “soap” nails inspired by French manicure techniques and Japanese minimalism.

At the same time, matte finishes are returning to prominence. Runway shows from designers including Schiaparelli, Valentino, Tom Ford and Chanel, as well as celebrity fans like Jennifer Lopez, have showcased matte pink, ombre, matte French styles and nail designs embellished with gems. Brands such as OPI and Essie provide matte top‑coats, while professionals advise using UV‑filter top coats to protect colour and prevent yellowing.
