Summer 2026 Swimwear Trends Emphasize Plus‑Size Cutouts and Versatile Designs

Designers are reshaping summer 2026 swimwear by introducing bold plus‑size cutout styles that prioritize fit and confidence. Cherri Cheeks launched its Juiccy Fruit Collection, featuring 14 one‑piece designs with strategic cutouts, adjustable ties and supportive silhouettes created for curvy bodies. Founder Andrea “Cherri” Dorsey said the line aims to give plus‑size women swimwear that is "sexy, current, expressive and created with their bodies in mind."

Industry leaders also note broader trends beyond cutouts. Bloomingdale’s fashion director Marissa Galante Frank, Shopbop senior fashion director Caroline Maguire and Net‑a‑Porter buying chief Brigitte Chartrand point to a mix of nostalgic cabana stripes, sportif surf‑inspired silhouettes, organic beaded accents and crinkled textures. These elements are being paired with cover‑ups and street‑style pieces, allowing swimwear to transition from beach to city wardrobes and to support a more versatile summer wardrobe.
