Summer Bon Odori festivals scheduled in Ichikawa and Ogikubo

Various local summer festivals and Bon Odori events are scheduled across the Chiba and Tokyo regions.

In Ichikawa City, Chiba, the Hirata Neighborhood Association will hold its 39th Annual Summer Bon Odori Festival at Hirata Elementary School on August 22 and 23, 2026. The event features traditional dancing, a children's game tournament, a hero show, and candy distribution for elementary school students and younger.

In Suginami City, Tokyo, the Ogikubo Summer Festival takes place at the Town Seven rooftop Aozora Park. The festival includes specific local dances such as the 'Ogikubo Ondo' and specialized versions of 'Saitaro Bushi' and 'Soran Bushi'. The event features dedicated time for children to participate in dances to popular themes.
