Summer celebrations and travel congestion hit Spain and Andorra

Meteorologist Eloi Cordomí and her husband Xavi marked their wedding with a six‑day celebration on the island of s’Arenella near Cadaqués, Spain, inviting friends and family for beach dancing, music and drinks. The couple had previously married in Palau‑solità i Plegamans and chose the island for a private, extended honeymoon party.

In August 1986, Andorra experienced severe traffic jams and hotel shortages as road works on the C‑1313, Port d’Envalira and N‑145 coincided with a surge of tourists. Up to 100 000 visitors crossed the country daily, causing queues of several kilometres at border points and a 20 percent rise in hotel occupancy, leaving many establishments fully booked.
