Summer festivals and outdoor pools draw large crowds in Germany
Summer recreational activities and community festivals are seeing high engagement in various German regions. In Jülich, the local outdoor pool operated by Stadtwerke Jülich has reported significant visitor numbers, with approximately 10,000 guests in June and 8,000 in July.
The Jülich facility features a 50-meter sports pool, a non-swimmer area with a slide, and a diving area. Operators noted the facility's accessibility via ramps and announced plans for a premiere event involving dog swimming later this autumn.
In Frankenthal, the Strandbadfest attracted nearly 11,000 visitors, an increase of 1,500 compared to the previous year. The two-day event included live music, DJ sets, and a return of the balloon glow ceremony. Due to drought-related fire risks, organizers substituted the planned fireworks with a flame show to ensure safety while maintaining the festive atmosphere.
