Summer festivals brighten Vorarlberg and German city with music, art and food
In Austria’s Vorarlberg region, a weekend of open‑air events turned towns into stages. The Gauklerfestival transformed Feldkirch’s centre into a large free‑air theatre with international circus acts, street art and a late‑night swap market. An open‑air cinema in Altstätten screened "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu" and the Bregenz Festspiele continued performances of "La Traviata" on the lake stage. Saturday night featured a tropical boat party on the MS Vorarlberg with salsa, reggaeton and Latin hits.
Meanwhile, a German city marked the 125th anniversary of its city rights with a festive weekend at a school centre. The program included classical dances by the Deutsch‑Indische Freundeskreis, Bollywood‑style performances, a Michael‑Jackson tribute, and a set by the youth band Bouncing Sheep, whose songs addressed current social issues. Flash dancers and a beach party for teens added to the multicultural celebration.
