Summer festivals held in Tachikawa and Tsuzuki regions
Various summer festivals are taking place across the Tachikawa and Tsuzuki regions in Japan.
In Tachikawa, the Suwa Shrine Reitaisai is being held from August 21 to August 23. Despite heavy rain and sudden downpours, the event has seen significant crowds enjoying traditional floats, portable shrines (mikoshi), food stalls, and a popular haunted house attraction. Local traffic restrictions are in place around Suwa Street during the festivities.
In Tsuzuki Ward, a wide array of community summer festivals are scheduled throughout late August. Notable events include the inaugural Chigadai Bon Odori on August 22, as well as celebrations at Eda Minami Elementary School, Sumiregaoka Elementary School, and Higashiyamada. Other scheduled activities include the Kawawadai Summer Festival at Momiji Park and various night markets and concerts at locations such as Edakin Shopping Street and Skip Hiroba.
