Summer Game Fest 2026 rolls out Resident Evil Veronica, Final Fantasy VII Revelation and Alien: Isolation 2

The Summer Game Fest 2026 livestream, running June 5–7, combined an Xbox Games Showcase and PlayStation State of Play to unveil a slate of new titles across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo platforms. Major announcements included the Resident Evil Veronica remake (scheduled for 2027), Final Fantasy VII Revelation (2027), Alien: Isolation 2, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (July 9), Control Resonant (Sept 24) and Star Wars Zero Company (Aug 27). Other highlights were new IPs such as Clutch, gen Atlas, Star Wars Galactic Racer (Oct 6) and a host of sequels and DLCs ranging from Guild Wars 3 (beta Fall 2027) to Mafia: The Old Country – Man of Honor (Aug 14).

Industry commentary noted a strategic shift toward legacy franchises—Final Fantasy, Star Fox, Indiana Jones and others—to capture an audience of adult gamers and parents, with 60 % of U.S. adults now playing at least an hour weekly. The festival’s extensive lineup of remakes, sequels and revitalised classics reflects this focus, while also introducing fresh concepts like Virtua Fighter Crossroads and AION 2. Overall, the event set the roadmap for major releases through 2027 and underscored the growing importance of nostalgia‑driven titles in the current market.
