Kamil Waszek shines then disqualified at Wisła Letnie Grand Prix ski jumping
Polish 19‑year‑old ski jumper Kamil Waszek delivered a spectacular first‑round jump of 137 m at the Letnie Grand Prix in Wisła, placing third after the opening series. He followed with a 128 m second jump, finishing sixth overall. However, the Polish team later learned that Waszek had been disqualified because his skis did not meet the required width template, with officials noting he “miał dostać DSQ za zły ‘szablon nart’”.
The competition was won by Japan’s Naoki Nakamura, who posted jumps of 128.5 m and 133 m. Other Polish athletes in the top‑30 included Kacper Tomasiak (seventh), Maciej Kot (nineteenth), Dawid Kubacki (twenty‑fourth) and Paweł Wąsek (thirtieth). The event took place on the Adam Małysz hill (K‑120/HS‑134) and is part of the Summer Grand Prix series, with the next stops scheduled for Courchevel in early August.
