Summer heat risks for parked cars and safety tips

When ambient temperatures rise above 50 °C, parked cars can become hazardous. Heat can quickly damage interiors, melt or deform plastics, cause rubber parts and tires to dry‑crack, and turn the cabin into a lethal environment for children, pets and perishable items left inside.

Experts advise keeping vehicles in shade or a garage, using UV‑protective car covers, parking under trees or in covered structures, and selecting summer‑graded tires that resist heat‑induced oxidation.
