Summit Foods recalls chicken wraps over E. coli fears

Summit Foods has issued an urgent recall for several chicken wrap and fajita products due to the potential presence of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). The Food Standards Agency (FSA) warned that infection from this bacteria can cause severe symptoms, including bloody diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure or death.

The recalled items include the Snackster Hoisin Wrap, Snackster Chicken Fajita Wrap, East Street Deli Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap, and Target a Snack Chicken Fajita Wrap. All affected products have use-by dates up to and including September 5, 2026. Consumers are advised to dispose of the products immediately and not consume them.
