SumUp raises R$ 700 million to expand receivables anticipation
Fintech company SumUp has raised R$ 700 million through three Credit Rights Investment Funds (FIDCs) to expand receivables anticipation services for micro and small businesses in Brazil.
The operation, coordinated by Bradesco BBI, was divided among three funds: SumUp Smart V (R$ 350 million), Smart VI (R$ 250 million), and Smart VII (R$ 100 million). These funds are backed by credit card receivables from various issuers, allowing small business owners to access funds from installment sales earlier in exchange for a fee.
This capital raise follows SumUp's transition from a Direct Credit Society (SCD) to a Credit, Financing, and Investment Society (SCFI), a change authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil. The company has a history of utilizing capital markets for expansion, having raised R$ 1.75 billion via FIDCs in 2025 alone.
