Jesse Hamlin and Maja Lardner Named BIG EAST Scholar‑Athletes of the Year

Butler track and field athlete Jesse Hamlin and Georgetown women's soccer standout Maja Lardner were each honored as the BIG EAST Male and Female Scholar‑Athlete of the Year. Both will receive a $4,000 scholarship to support graduate or professional studies.

Hamlin graduated from Butler with a 3.798 GPA in mathematics and computer science and is pursuing a master’s in data analytics with a 3.904 graduate GPA. He won the 5,000 m, mile and 4 × 800 m relay at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships, becoming the first conference athlete to capture all three titles in a single meet, and earned BIG EAST Most Outstanding Track Performer honors.

Lardner earned a 3.612 undergraduate GPA in finance and marketing and maintains a perfect 4.0 graduate GPA in real‑estate studies. On the field she recorded 31 goals, 20 assists and 10 game‑winning goals, was twice named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, and signed with NWSL club Racing Louisville FC after a distinguished collegiate career.
