Sun Chemical launches SunPak® DFC inPace for food contact packaging
Sun Chemical has launched SunPak® DFC inPace, an advanced sheetfed offset ink system designed for folding carton applications in direct food contact (DFC) packaging. Manufactured at the company’s Badalona Centre of Excellence, the system aims to help manufacturers comply with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) standards.
The SunPak® DFC inPace technology is designed to reduce plastic use by eliminating the need for plastic laminates and inserts, thereby improving recyclability. The products feature high bio-based carbon content and are intended to reduce material usage and production steps.
Additionally, Sun Chemical expanded its AquaSafe® water-based DFC ink portfolio by adding nine new base colors, including a new green pigment. This expansion is intended to provide a broader color gamut and improved vibrancy while meeting European food safety and sustainability requirements.
