Sun Goddess wins Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf
Sun Goddess secured a decisive victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Keeneland, winning by three lengths with a time of 1:36.10. Despite starting from the ninth position and facing her first attempt at a mile, the two-year-old filly demonstrated dominance by moving through the field and pulling ahead in the stretch.
Jockey Ryan Moore positioned the horse effectively behind the early leader, Seneca Park, before launching a move that left the rest of the field behind. Green Empress finished second, followed by Curracloe in third. Amusingly took fourth, and Alwaysanangel finished fifth.
The win marks the 22nd Breeders' Cup victory for trainer Aidan O'Brien, allowing him to surpass Bob Baffert for the most career wins at the event. Sun Goddess, owned by Westerberg, Mrs. John Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith, has now achieved four Group 1 victories in nine career starts.
