Sun King launches EZ 3 smartphone series in Kenya

Sun King has expanded its smartphone portfolio in Kenya with the launch of the EZ 3 and EZ 3 Pro models. The company is leveraging its existing distribution and pay-as-you-go (PAYG) solar financing infrastructure to enter the consumer technology market.

The EZ 3 base model features a 6.75-inch HD+ display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery, with a daily rate of KES 55 and a KES 2,299 deposit. The EZ 3 Pro offers enhanced specifications, including a 50MP rear camera, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 6,000mAh battery, at a daily rate of KES 65 and a KES 3,099 deposit.

These devices are assembled at Sun King’s manufacturing facility in Tatu City, Kiambu, which has an annual capacity of 700,000 phones and televisions. Catherine Mudachi, Sun King’s global vice president for marketing, stated that one in five Kenyan households currently has access to a Sun King product.
