Sun Life reports strong Q2 2026 growth and AI expansion
Sun Life has reported positive business results for the second quarter of 2026, driven by a strategy of diversification and global innovation. The group saw significant growth in core segments, with corporate insurance sales increasing by 27% and individual insurance sales rising by 16% compared to the previous year.
In the asset and wealth management sector, the company recorded net inflows of 2.1 billion Canadian dollars during the quarter. This performance contributed to double-digit underlying profit growth and an underlying return on equity (ROE) of 19.1%. In the Asian region, underlying profit reached 222 million Canadian dollars, a 21% increase over the same period in 2025.
Sun Life is also prioritizing digital transformation and artificial intelligence. The company has become a founding member of the AI Consortium in Canada and has deployed its own developed Agentic AI platform to enhance operational efficiency and innovation. In Vietnam, Sun Life Vietnam reported positive results for the first half of 2026 and is strengthening its financial capacity to support its customers.
