Sun Moon Lake hosts Wenwu Legend Celebration Carnival

The Sun Moon Lake Wenwu Legend Celebration Carnival was held on September 26 to promote the historical, cultural, and religious significance of the region. Organized by the Nantou County Government and Wenwu Temple as part of the Temple Culture and Art Festival, the event combined traditional culture with modern entertainment to boost tourism.

Morning activities featured a “Three Kingdoms Battle” on the lake, where 300 participants divided into teams representing Cao Cao and Guan Yu engaged in a themed naval reenactment involving smoke signals and drumming. Other family-oriented activities included performances by the Tianma Drama Troupe and a water ball battle.

Evening festivities centered around Wenwu Temple, featuring a concert with various musical artists and a six-minute fireworks display to conclude the event.
