Sun Moon University delivers emergency relief to Nepal flood victims

Sun Moon University’s Nursing Department ODA project team has delivered emergency relief supplies to flood-affected areas in Nepal. Working with local partners Kathmandu University and Dhulikhel Hospital, the team provided essential items including personal hygiene kits, dental hygiene kits, underwear, and sanitary pads.

The rapid response was facilitated by the university’s existing cooperation infrastructure in Nepal, which has been active since 2022 through the International Cooperation Leading University Support Project. The supplies are being distributed via the Dhulikhel Hospital Outreach Center.

In addition to immediate aid, Sun Moon University is launching a fundraising campaign involving faculty and students to raise approximately 10 million KRW for further support. The university also plans to implement a ‘Nepal Disaster Health Recovery Program,’ focusing on disaster nursing, infection control, and community health recovery through both short-term educational programs and long-term health initiatives.
